Erler, Augustyn Collect East-Comm Athletes of the Month Honors for March

EAST-COMM announced its Athletes of the Month for the month of March on Thursday afternoon. Dan Erler of Farmingdale State Men's Lacrosse and Kate Augustyn of MIT Women's Swimming took the awards.
 
 
EAST-COMM recognizes one male and female student-athlete from its member schools every month. Sports Information Directors of EAST-COMM member schools were able to nominate one male and female student-athletes from their respective institutions following outstanding athletic performances in the month of March.
 
 
Erler was dominant in net for the Rams in March by helping lead Farmingdale State to a perfect 7-0 month. He held a 7.57 GAA, 51 goals against, .598 save percentage and made 76 saves in those seven games. Erler paces the Skyline Conference and ranks 28th in Division III for goals against average this season (8.44). He also ranks 40th in Division III with a .573 save percentage. Erler's efforts saw him take home three Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week awards in March. The Rams are still currently undefeated against DIII opponents this season.
 
 
Augustyn won two individual National Championships (100 and 200 Back) and was a member of three relay national titles as the Engineers won the program's first-ever National Championship at the NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championship in March. Augustyn collected 7 All-American honors and tied her National Record in the 100 back and helped the 200 medley relay set a new national record in their title-winning swim. Augustyn concluded her career as one of the most decorated swimmers in program history, collecting four individual national championships, four relay national championships, and 27 All-America honors, the most in program history.
