Membership Application
For over 65 years, the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM, formerly ECAC-SIDA) has served as a resource for athletic communications/sports information professionals primarily throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
New for the 2024-25 academic year, EAST-COMM and College Sports Communicators will partner for organizational memberships. All members of CSC are now able to add their EAST-COMM membership alongside of their CSC for an easy, one-stop check out process. Membership for EAST-COMM will only be available through the CSC platform.
EAST-COMM takes pride in providing professional services utilizing all available resources and building relationships as our core principles. As part of the athletic communication/sports information service industry, we enhance and promote the student-athlete experience while representing higher education institutions in a positive and strategic manner. A diverse and thorough skill set allows for numerous tasks to be carried out that benefit countless constituencies, including student-athletes, coaches, University communities, colleagues within athletic communications, members of the media, partners and fans. EAST-COMM also strives to enhance the professional development of and support for its members, providing an avenue for growth as effective communicators as well as activists for college athletics.
As EAST-COMM moves into a new chapter in its history, we invite you to join us as we continue to provide a multitude of resources to the athletic communications/sports information profession. While best known for the annual Workshop, normally held in June, EAST-COMM also sponsors a robust awards program honoring the profession's best and brightest, as well as other opportunities for growth and recognition throughout the year.
Membership in EAST-COMM is just $75.00 and covers all members of an institution or organization, and is open to all intercollegiate athletic departments as well as collegiate conference offices. Membership includes a registration discount to the annual Workshop, subscription to the organization's email newsletters, as well as access to our 'Best Practices' Zoom sessions, and advertising for any open athletic communications positions at your institutions. New this year will be an academic honor roll following the fall and spring semesters and a chance to earn East-Comm Athletes of the Month for your institution! We will have special programming for our rookies in the profession as well as we seek to enhance the value of an EAST-COMM membership, already one of the best values in professional development.
